Welcome to the Charlottetown Bahá'í community

The Baha’is of Charlottetown cordially invite you to explore the teachings of our beautiful Faith and to join us in creating a better world, one heart, one family, one community at a time. Bahá’ís and their friends throughout Prince Edward Island, and indeed the world, are coming together in study circles to learn about spiritual realities and the nature of the soul, are gathering for prayers and devotions, are working together to host classes of character education for our precious children, and to offer programs of moral empowerment for our junior youth. These activities are changing lives and responding to the social and spiritual needs of our fellow Islanders.

The Bahá'í Faith is the youngest of the world's independent religions. Its founder, Bahá'u'lláh (1817-1892), is regarded by Bahá'ís as the most recent in the line of Messengers of God that stretches back beyond recorded time and that includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, Christ and Muhammad.

The central theme of Bahá'u'lláh's message is that humanity is one single race and that the day has come for its unification in one global society. God, Bahá'u'lláh said, has set in motion historical forces that are breaking down traditional barriers of race, class, creed, and nation and that will, in time, give birth to a new universal civilization. The principal challenge facing the peoples of the earth is to accept the fact, and to work towards the realization that we belong to one family.

"All men have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization. The Almighty beareth Me witness: To act like the beasts of the field is unworthy of man. Those virtues that befit his dignity are forbearance, mercy, compassion and loving-kindness towards all the peoples and kindreds of the earth. Say: O friends! Drink your fill from this crystal stream that floweth through the heavenly grace of Him Who is the Lord of Names. Let others partake of its waters in My name, that the leaders of men in every land may fully recognize the purpose for which the Eternal Truth hath been revealed, and the reason for which they themselves have been created."
